IIT patna started M.Tech program in 2012 with three specialisations. Subsequently, based on industry need and demand in the job market, continous expansion of M.Tech specialisation for imparting postgraduate education in engineering in technology has comeup on as date with M.Tech program in15 specilisations that are considered important with multitaksing skill and aptitude. Entry in M.Tech program is only for GATE qualified candidates for regular and full-time category with fellowship. In addition, a limited number of seats are available in each specialisation for promising candidates under sponsored category from academia, R&D institutions and industry. For sponsored candidates, GATE qualification is not mandatory.
