1. Central Scheme Scholarships
Top Class Education Scheme for SC students(for UG Students) - funded by Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment
Objective: The scheme aims at recognizing and promoting quality education amongst students belonging to SCs, by providing full financial support. The scheme will cover SC students for pursuing studies beyond 12th class.
Eligibility:
- SC students having total annual family income from all sources up to Rs. 6.00 lakh and having secured admission in a full-time course in any of the notified institutions according to the general selection criteria prescribed by the concerned institution, will be eligible for scholarship under the Scheme to the extent of the number of scholarships (slots) allocated to the institution for the course.
- The benefit of the Scheme will not be provided to more than 2 siblings in a family. The student will submit an affidavit in the Institution to certify that he/she is not the third sibling of the family who is availing benefit under the scheme
- The scholarship will be terminated if the student fails to pass the final examination of each year or any terminal examination or semester examination prescribed. No. of slots given to IIT Patna: 12
Duration: Entire academic year/course, subject to satisfactory performance of the student.
Rate of Scholarship : - Full tuition fee non-refundable charges.
- Living expenses to the beneficiary @ Rs. 2,220/- per month per student.
- Books and stationery @ 3,000/- per annum per student;
- A latest computer/laptop of reputed brand with accessories like UPS and printer limited to Rs. 45,000/- per student as one time assistance during the course.

Mode of payment: - The payment of tuition fee and other non-refundable charges will be made directly to the institution by the Central Government through Direct Benefit Transfer mode; and (ii) Similarly, the payment of living expenses, books & stationery and computer/laptop with accessories will be made directly to the student by the Central Government through Direct Benefit Transfer mode.
National Fellowship (for PG Students) and Scholarship (for UG/PG Students) for Higher Education for ST students- funded by Ministry of Tribal Affairs
Objective:
- Fellowship:- To encourage the ST students, a section of society with the lowest literacy levels in the country, to acquire higher education in the form of fellowships to pursue M.Phil and Ph.D. Courses, with a view to create qualified professionals to hold posts of teachers/professionals and other higher stages of employment.
- Scholarship:- To encourage meritorious ST students to pursue courses at Graduate/Post Graduate level in identified institutions of excellence, Government and Private, in professional fields such as Management, Medicine, Engineering, Information Technology, Law etc.
Eligibility: - Fellowship:- (a) The candidate belonging to ST should have passed the Post-Graduate examination. The candidate should get admission and registration for regular and full time M.Phil/Ph.D. Courses in University/Academic Institutions recognized by UGC.
(b) The ST students once considered eligible for the Fellowship shall not be entitled for any other scholarship of the Centre or State Government the same study. - Scholarship:- The total family income of the candidate to be eligible for this scholarship from all sources should not exceed Rs. 6.00 lakh per annum
Duration: - Fellowship:- (a) Enrolment of M.Phil: 2 years
(b) Ph.D. exclusively: 5 years
(c) Enrolment of Ph.D. after completion of M.Phil: 2 years (M.Phil) and 3 years (Ph.D.) - Scholarship:- Till the completion of the course, subject to satisfactory performance.
Rate of Scholarship:- - Fellowship:- (a) M.Phil fellowship @ Rs. 25,000/- pm, Contingency of Rs. 10,000/- per year for HSS & Rs. 12,000/- per year for Science, Engineering Technology, and HRA as per rules of the institution.
- Scholarship:- (a) Full tuition fee and other non-refundable dues, Books & stationery @ Rs. 3,000/- pa, Living expenses @ Rs. 2,200/- pm and Computer & accessories @ Rs. 45,000/- one time assistance during the tenure
Mode of apply: Online through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) i.e. www.scholarships.gov.in The scheme for Scholarship will be advertised in the National Scholarship Portal every year in the beginning of the academic session.
Mode of payment:- - Payment of the Fellowship/Scholarship would be made through the system of Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) through Aadhar payment bridge of the beneficiaries.
Central Sector Scheme of Scholarships for College and University Students(for UG Students)- funded by MHRD, Department of Higher Education
Objective: To provide financial assistance to meritorious students from low income families to meet a part of their day-to-day expenses while pursuing higher studies.
Eligibility:
- Students who are above 80th percentile of successful candidates in the relevant stream from the respective Board of Examination in Class XII of 10+2 pattern or equivalent and pursuing regular courses (not correspondence or distance mode) in Colleges/Institutions recognized by AICTE, UGC, Medical Council of India, Dental Council of India and respective regulatory authorities and not availing benefit of any other scholarship scheme including State run scholarship schemes/fee waiver and reimbursement are eligible under the scheme. Students pursuing Diploma courses are not eligible under the scheme;
- The parental/family income ceiling is Rs. 8.00 lakh per annum.
Duration: A student will be eligible for the scholarship for a total duration not exceeding 5 years. This is renewable on year to year basis up to PG level in the same stream (except for the students pursuing technical courses leading to degree at graduation level).
Renewal of Scholarship:- - That the student has secured 50% or more marks in the previous exam
- That the student has 75% attendance;
- That the student is not involved in any ragging activities.
Rate of Scholarship:- Rs. 10,000/- per annum at Graduation level and Rs. 20,000/- per annum at PG level.

Prime Minister's Scholarship Scheme for RPF (Railway Protection Force)/RPSF (Railway Protection Special Force)(for UG Students)- by Ministry of Railways
Objective: To encourage technical and professional education for the dependent wards of Ex/Serving RPF/RPSF personnel and widows (below the rank of Gazetted Officer).
Eligibility:
- Students should have secured 60% and above in Minimum Educational Qualification (MEQ) i.e. 12th standard, diploma/graduation. The scholarship is admissible for only two wards per family.
Rate of scholarship: Rs. 2,000/- pm for male students; and Rs. 2,250/- pm for female students
Duration: As per course duration.
Mode of apply: Online through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) i.e. www.scholarships.gov.in
Courses eligible: Professional degree courses like BE, B.Tech, BDS, MBBS, B.Ed, BBS, BCA, MCA, B.Pharma., etc. duly recognized by the respective Government Regulatory bodies, such as AICTE, MCI, UGC, NCTE etc. (Master degree courses are not eligibel for this scholarship except MBC, MCA). Mode of payment: The amount would be credited/transferred directly into the Bank accounts of the selected applications through PFMS under the DBT mission of the Government.
Prime Minister's Scholarship Scheme for Central Armed Police Forces and Assam Rifles(for UG Students)- by WARB, Ministry of Home Affairs
Objective: To encourage technical and professional education for the dependent wards & widows of Central Armed Police Forces & Assam Rifles (CAPFs & AR) personnel. From 2019-20, this scheme has further been extended for the dependent wards of State Police Personnel who are martyred during Terror/Naxal attacks.
Eligibility:
- Wards/widows of deceased CAPFs & AR personnel; Wards of personnel disabled due to causes attributable to Government service; and Wards of Ex-CAPFs & AR personnel in receipt of Gallantry Awards.
- Wards/widows of retired and serving CAPFs & AR personnel
- Pursuing first professional degree programme in the field of Engineering, Medicine, Dental, Veterinary, BBA, BCA, B.Pharma, B.Sc (Nursing, Agriculture, etc.), MBA and MCA.
- Having minimum 60% marks in MEQ i.e. 10+2/Diploma/Graduation or equivalent in case of new applicant (Or) For renewal, it is mandatory to pass the each subsequent academic year of the professional courses being pursued by them with minimum 50% marks.
Rate of scholarship: Rs. 3,000/- pm for girls; and Rs. 2,500/- pm for boys students
Duration: Up to 5 years (depending upon the duration of the course being pursued by the applicant).

(i) Post-matric Scholarship for Students with Disabilities(for UG/PG Students).
(ii) Scholarships for Top Class Education for students with disabilities(for UG/PG Students)- funded by Department of Empowerment of Persons with disability.
(i) Post-matric Scholarship for SwDs:-
Objective: To support students with disabilities to study further in order to prepare themselves to earn their livelihood and find a dignified place for themselves in the society.
Eligibility:
- SwDs with 40% and above.
- Not more than two children with disabilities of the same parents.
- He/she will not hold any other scholarship/stipend.
- Parents/guardians income does not exceed Rs. 2.50 lakh pa.
Duration: Entire academic year/course.
Rate of Scholarship - Maintenance allowance @ Rs. 1,600/- pm for Hostellers in Engineering courses.
- Disability allowance: Rs. 4,000/- pa for Visually impaired; Rs. 2,000/- pa for Hearing impaired; Rs. 2,000/- pa for Physically disabled; Rs. 4,000/- pa for Intellectual disabilities; and Rs. 2,000/- pa for all other types of disability.
- Reimbursement of tuition, non-refundable fees etc.
- Book allowance: Rs. 1,500/- pa.

(ii) Top class education (for graduate degree/PG degree/diploma)
Objective: For pursuing studies at the level of graduate and PG degree/diploma.
Eligibility: - SwDs with 40% and above
- Not more than two children with disabilities of the same parents.
- He/she will not hold any other scholarship/stipend.
- Parents/guardians income does not exceed Rs. 6.00 lakh pa
Duration: Entire academic year/course.
Financial assistance - Reimbursement of tuition fee: Up to Rs. 2.00 lakh pa (subject to actual amount)
- Maintenance allowance: Rs. 3,000/- pm for hostellers; Rs. 1,500/- pm for day-scholars.
- Special allowance (like reader allowance, escort allowance etc.) : Rs. 2,000/- pm.
- Reimbursement for purchase of computer: Rs. 30,000/- as a one-time grant for entire course.
- Purchase of Aids and assistive devices including software related to the particular disability: Rs. 30,000/- as a one-time grant for entire course.

Merit-cum-Means based Scholarship for students belonging to the Minority Communities to pursue professional and technical courses(for UG/PG Students)- by Ministry of Minority Affairs
Objective: To provide financial assistance to the poor and meritorious students belonging to minority communities (Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Jain and Zoroastrians (Parsis)) to enable them to pursue graduate level or post graduate level professional and technical courses (List of courses under this scheme is available on the website www.minorityaffairs.gov.in).
Eligibility: Students who have secured not less than 50% marks or equivalent grade in the previous final examination and the annual income of whose parents/guardians from all sources does not exceed Rs.2.50 lakh.
Duration: Entire academic year/course
Courses eligible: List of graduate degree level and post graduate level technical and professional courses under Merit cum Means based scholarship scheme is available on the website of this Ministry i.e. "minorityaffairs.gov.in"
Rate of Scholarship:
- Course Fee: Full course fee reimbursement.
- Maintenance allowance: Rs. 1,000/- pm (for 10 months in an academic year) for Hosteller & Rs. 500/- pm (for 10 months in an academic year) for Day Scholar.

3. UGC Scheme Scholarship

ISHAN UDAY (for UG Students)- Special Scholarship Scheme For North Eastern Region
Objective: To provide equal opportunities for higher studies in NE region; To focus more on professional education in NE region etc.
Scope:
- Passed XII or equivalent in the preceding year of study i.e. 2019 for applications called for during year 2019-20.
- Secured admission in first year of any degree course, either general degree course of technical/professional/medical/paramedical course (Integrated courses included)
Eligibility: - Students with domicile of NER, whose parental income does not exceed Rs. 4.50 lakh pa from all sources.
Duration: Entire academic year/course.
Rate of Scholarship : - Rs. 5,400/- pm for general degree course and Rs. 7,800/- pm for technical/medical/professional/paramedical courses.
Mode of apply: - Online through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) i.e. www.scholarships.gov.in
Mode of payment: - The amount would be paid to the selected students by the UGC through DBT mode and will be transferred to the Bank account of the beneficiaries.

Merit-cum-Means Scholarships (for UG Students including M.Sc) : - IIT Patna gives MCM scholarships to meritorious and needy students. An UG student or 2 year M.Sc program student can receive the MCM scholarship .
Rate of Scholarship :
- For Gen & OBC students:- Rs. 1,000/- pm for two semesters (8 semesters in a year) and Free tuition fee.
- For SC & ST students:- Free messing, exemption from hostel room rent, and Pocket allowance of Rs. 250/- pm.
Eligibility(Merit):
A) For Gen & OBC students:- - For new entrants (B.Tech/M.Sc 1st year): Their SPI will be the criterion for their merit. Minimum SPI is 6.50 and no "F" grade in any of the courses in first semester
- For the students in 2nd year (B.Tech/M.Sc) onwards:- Minimum CPI is 6.50 and no "F" grade
B) For SC & ST students:- - For new entrants (B.Tech/M.Sc 1st year): Their SPI will be the criterion for their merit. No "F" grade in any of the courses in first semester.
- For the students in 2nd year (B.Tech/M.Sc) onwards:- No "F" grade in any of the courses.
Eligibility(Means): - For all category students:- Annual income of a student's parents/guardian and his family from all sources in the preceding financial year must not exceed Rs. 4.50 lakh.

Shri Kedar Nath Das Memorial Award:
- The best 4th year UG student in the CSE department for outstanding all round performance, excellent organizational abilities and leadership qualities. Name to be recommended by the CSE department. (b) Prize money: Rs. 10,000/-. This award will be presented on the Convocation date.
Shri Jagdish Nath Tripathi Memorial Scholarship:
- The best 1st year UG student of Civil and Environmental Engineering Department of the Institute, admitted through JEE, who shall have CPI 8.00 or above in the 2nd semester, shall be considered for the scholarship.
- No "F" grade in any of the subject till the time of the scholarship.
- No disciplinary action been taken against him/her.
- He/she has not been punished under examination malpractice and involved in violation of code of conduct at any stage of the course.
- The student's gross family income should be below Rs. 1.00 pa. Name to be recommended by the CEE department.
- Rate of scholarship: Rs. 30,000/-
